by مدیر سایت August 16, 2013
written by مدیر سایت 1 minutes read

As 7th year of celebration, Asiatic Cheetah Day Festival is going to beheld since 7 to 9 August in Tehran. The festival is organized by the Iranian Cheetah Society (ICS) in partnership with Iran Department of Environment and Iran Khodro which is the largest car manufacturer in the Middle East. After holding for half-decade, the Cheetah Day Festival is the largest wildlife-based gathering in Iran which attracts huge media coverage on benefit of the critically endangered Asiatic cheetah.

The festival has been hosted in various locations in previous years, such as Tehran zoo or Tehran Museum of Natural History. Now, 2013 festival will be held in Tehran Zoo to increase awareness of this part of the more than 12 million people of Tehran.

The cheetah day has a specific website which has different pages on previous cheetah day festivals, news and celebrities quotes about the campaign. You can read more about it on www.cheetahday.com

31 August has been named as Asiatic Cheetah Day in Iran which dates back to 1994 when a cheetah was rescued from unaware people after losing her mother with two siblings on a waterhole in central Iran. Since then, numerous educational programs have been organized in various parts of Iran so now a majority of bIranians are aware that their country is the last stronghold.

Iran Biodiversity Campaign 2013

by مدیر سایت April 15, 2013
written by مدیر سایت 1 minutes read

“As a pioneering wildlife conservation non-governmental organization in Iran, the ICS has launched a public campaign to celebrate “International Day for Biological Diversity” which has been proclaimed by the United Nations on May 22 in order to increase understanding and awareness of biodiversity issues. Faded among political and economic challenges, the country’s nature is now receiving less attention from decision–makers and people. Many species and their natural ecosystems are in essential need for conservation which is only possible if everybody join. Our campaign’s mission is to highlight various aspects of the country’s extraordinary biodiversity to mobilize the people saving the nature, because we think that we will protect everything we love and we love everything we know. So, please join us and share this campaign to spread the word.

“Nowrouz with Cheetah” Fundraising Event

by مدیر سایت March 17, 2013
written by مدیر سایت 1 minutes read

“In order to spread the word of cheetah and raise more attention within the Iranian community to save the species range, the Iranian Cheetah Society (ICS) is holding a charity event in Tehran. Various companies are attending in the event to sell their known products for the benefit of the cheetahs. Also, some TV celebrities are also visiting to show their support to save the Iranian wildlife symbol.

The “”Nowrouz with Cheetah”” event is organized in days preceding the new Persian year holidays (namely as Nowrouz) to raise fund for the Yuz (Persian name for the cheetah). Benefits from the fundraising event will be devoted to monitoring and community-based educational programs to save the Asiatic cheetahs across their vast arid landscapes in Iran.

As the oldest Iranian NGO ever working on to save the Iranian wildlife, the ICS is devoted to conserve biodiversity in Iran, particularly carnivores. In Iranian Cheetah Society, we are committed to take part for a more organized and effective approach to wildlife conservation in our homeland. We just celebrated our first decade of active life with great success to save the Iranian wildlife, particularly the Asiatic cheetah.

We take this opportunity to invite you to a wildlife event to celebrate onset of the new Persian year for the benefit of the very few remained Asiatic cheetahs in the Iranian nature.
Thank you very much for any contribution you may offer.

Address: Conference Hall, Building No.12, Hormozan Complex, Hormozan St., Shahrak-e Qods (Shahrak-e Gharb)

Date & Time: 14-15 March 2013, 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM
